#TheDorillWay is our instructional vision for our young Citizen Artists as they become team builders + collaborators, creators, problem-seekers and project managers who seek opportunities to have a positive impact on their communities. Young Citizen Artists will interact and engage in Creative Maker Spaces – learner-driven, culturally responsive-sustaining spaces with multidisciplinary experiences that promote artistic and creative expression, academic enrichment, and community engagement.

In-School Arts Dorill is a growing program, new as of 2021, aim to address the removal of arts education from NYC public schools by providing a multidisciplinary arts-based integrated curriculum during the school day. #DorillArtisticCoaches collaborate with school administrators and arts teaching staff to help them meet mandated arts education requirements and align #TheDorillWay lesson planning with core curriculum.

Our lessons focus on expanding student’s artistic capabilities, while broadening their awareness of arts + community. Curricula are designed in keeping with the National Core Arts Standards, New York State Learning Standards for the Arts, and the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in the Arts.

The Dorill Initiative believes every young artist and the community they live in deserve to reach their limitless potential – we can not do this important work without your support. There are various ways to support our organization.
