WHAT IS A YLC?
NYC Youth Leadership Councils (YLCs) are the place to make change happen in your neighborhood, school, or borough. Councils across the City need high school students like you to share your stories, passions, and ideas – if you want to make a difference, we need you on a Youth Leadership Council. 
 
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
  • Hands-on experience addressing issues affecting YOUR community
  • Exposure to college and/or career paths
  • Connection to a city-wide community of youth leaders
  • Community service hours
  • Opportunities to develop personal and professional skills
  • Free trainings, workshops, discussions and networking events
  • A certificate of achievement signed by Mayor Bill de Blasio
WHO CAN JOIN?
Currently enrolled NYC high school and college students between the ages of 14 – 21.
